A Step Forward
Good news for our community — and a moment to recognize everyone who made it possible.
The Irvine Company has submitted a formal letter to the City of Irvine to move forward with recording the long-promised Open Space Easement for the Oak Creek Golf Course, as required under the 1988 Open Space Agreement.
This progress did not happen on its own.
This happened because of Save Irvine Open Space — and because residents stood with us.
For months, Save Irvine Open Space (SIOS) volunteers, HOA leaders, and hundreds of Irvine residents worked together:
• speaking at council meetings
• sending emails
• educating neighbors
• pushing for transparency
• and refusing to let the easement be forgotten
Without that collective effort, this step would not be happening today.
It was the unified voice of SIOS and the community that moved this forward.
But our work is not done — we remain vigilant.
SIOS will continue monitoring, advocating, and keeping residents informed until the easement is fully recorded and the open space is permanently protected.
How residents can continue supporting this effort
